Tilly & The Buttons Mimi Blouse Pattern and Fabric Review
I have had the Tilly and the Buttons ‘Love At First Stitch’ book for a long while now and I’ve always loved the look of this blouse. As seems to be normal for me though, I decided to ogle it for a while before actually getting on and making it. I absolutely loved the look of this chiffon, navy and red leaf print fabric from Minerva and thought that it would be a lovely match for the Mimi pattern. You can find this gorgeous fabric here. Here’s a review of how I found both the pattern and fabric to work with. Pattern: Mimi Blouse from the Tilly and the Buttons…

‘Darling Ranges’ by Megan Nielsen |A Pattern Review
I first came across this pattern at the very beginning of my sewing journey and I remember thinking to myself how much I’d love to be able to make a dress like this. I love a shirt dress and I loved the look of the denim chambray version on the front of the pattern so I made it my mission to improve my skills enough that I could make my own version. Here’s a look at the pattern. The cover has actually had a bit of an update since I bought mine – the most recent copy is the one on the left but I’ve included a photo of the…

Beginner Sewing Tutorial – Easy Pom Pom Cushion
This envelope style cushion cover is one of the easiest styles of cushion cover to make as there are no zips and no button holes to master. The added touch of the pom pom trim gives a bit more interest but you could just as easily make it without of you don’t have any available or don’t want to. You will need: A cushion inner pad | Fabric for your cushion cover | Pom pom trim (if using) | Matching thread | Sewing machine | Scissors | Pins Step 1 – cut the front of your cushion cover Measure your cushion pad. You will need to cut a square, or rectangle…

Megan Nielsen Sudley Dress/Top Hack
I think I have an obsession with Megan Nielsen dress patterns, there’s always so much potential to adapt and so many different variations to the patterns. When I saw this beautiful blue spot crepe fabric on the Minerva website loved it immediately and wasn’t sure what to make with it at first, then the Sudley Dress pattern came into my life and I knew it would be the perfect match. I wasn’t sure at first whether to make the dress version or a top from this fabric and in the end I settled on something in between. A sort of hack of the pattern to make a peplum top. Here’s…
