Fabric haul | Sewing and knitting plans and a catch up…

Hi everyone – welcome to another fabric haul and sewing plans blog and vlog. This blog accompanies my YouTube ‘fabric haul’ video and includes links to everything I talk about within the video. You can watch this video by clicking below.

In the video I’m wearing an Ogden Cami by True Bias – you can find this pattern here. I used a cream crepe fabric and I’ve linked similar here.

My Sewing Plans

I was gifted this beautiful Art Gallery cotton fabric from Minerva for my next Brand Ambassador project for them. You can find this fabric here. I’m planning to make a short sleeved Darling Ranges Dress by Megan Nielson. I absolutely love this pattern and it sews up really nicely in a cotton. If you’d like to follow my over on my Minerva page you can do so here 🙂

My next plan is to sew up this beautiful peacock print Art Gallery cotton jersey which you can find here, into a simple Agnes T Shirt by Tilly and the Buttons. I’ve realised that for the summer I really need some more pretty t shirts and I’m excited to sew up my first Art Gallery jersey, it’s so soft!

I also recently bought this lovely Art Gallery rayon (spot the Art Gallery theme here – it’s not intentional haha!) this is from the Velvet Collection you can find it here. This rayon is so super soft and drapey and I want to sew up a Davenport Dress by Friday Pattern Company with this. I’m hoping that will work well in this fabric.

Last in my collection of new fabrics, I recently picked up this Dashwood rayon from John Lewis. I couldn’t link the fabric from John Lewis but I found some here from Sew Sew Sew. With this lovely fabric I want to try out the new Tilly and the Buttons Lyra dress which I’ve linked here. I’m looking forward to the challenge of that stand up collar eek!!

Knitting Plans

In knitting news, I’ve started knitting this Sirdir pattern from Lovecrafts.com which you can find here. I loved the look of the lace pattern on the fronts of this! I’m using a Rowan Cotton Cashmere yarn which I’ve linked here. I’m really enjoying knitting this up so far and it feels a nice summery change from the super chunky sweater I’ve just finished knitting.

What I’m reading…

I’m currently reading The House at Riverton by Kate Morton, I’ve linked it here. I’m really enjoying this book, it’s a lovely story about ‘upstairs downstairs’ life set in the first world war era onwards.

What I’m watching…

Recently I’ve been watching Breeders which is a comedy about life as a parent. It’s a bit of light relief of an evening, we’ve also been watching Line of Duty – a little behind the times but better late than never 😉

Thanks so much for watching (and reading) I hope you like my sewing and knitting plans for the next few weeks. I’d love, as always, to hear what you’re up to and what your sewing and knitting plans are.

Don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel for more sewing videos. You can also follow me over on Instagram @secret_life_of_a_seamstress for more pictures and sewing works in progress.

Until next time, happy sewing!
